film pitch

I was really behind on the film pitch and it was all my fault, but this is the only thing that I was behind on and it was holding me back a little (only because I couldn't write about it in my blog) . The only reason that I didn't finish it on time is honesty because of sleep because I already wrote all of my information down, my notes, and what I am going to say. Its just every time I go home I just take a shower and go into my bed at 4 pm and end up waking up at either at 12 am or the time I need to wake up ton get ready for school which is at 4 in the morning, but I did get it done and this was a very chill assignment since my teacher Ms. Landis gave us a set of questions that we should answer and include in our video which was really helpful and I felt like I could actually persuade these producers that they should produce and fund my film.

case study

Image
This was my first case study and it really wasn't that hard. case study's in a way remind me of a book report and certain assignments we had to in my law studies class in 8th grade since it involved a lot of research. for this case study I the hunger games because it is a very popular movie in the genre I am filming in. I think this movie was a great option that i choose because it included a lot of information and there were a ton of case studies written on the hunger games. Though there were a ton of information I still didn't quite understand the cross media convergence and synergy section, so I looked at many examples of that section for different movies but they were all talking about something different. So I took it upon myself to research it and i guess it means how they went about to promote their movie. so my end result for that section was this:  But overall I think I did well on this part of journey to completing this component of the media studies project.  ...

Script

I have just now finished with my script and I feel like I did a horrible job on it. In my opinion I feel like the story line doesn't even match but I had to get it turned in before the deadline. I know before I start filming I am going to adjust the script  a little bit because I really don't like some parts of it, but I'll have to do that after I am done with all the things I have to do this week. This project is a little overwhelming to me since I am working by myself but I have faith in myself that I can complete this project successfully. Since my script is the main base for a lot of the activities we are doing to complete this opening scene I need to make sure it is up to par and its not unorganized. My teacher provided us with a script template and a lot of videos that can help us on the way and I am really thankful for that because if I didn't have those   I wouldn't know what to do. But I feel like the script part was kind of fun especially if you like writ...

Stage 2 (Marketing)

It is very easy for films not to receive much recognition especially in a world where thousands of movies are being released on different platforms every day so it is very easy for your film to go unnoticed. But I do have a few ways to increase the popularity for my film. Though I don't have much things to work with I still have to work with what I got such as my mouth and my social media. I could go to film festivals to promote my film and talk with directors and producers to have a look into my own work. I could also plan a release party to promote my film such as a movie night where people can come eat popcorn and I could also invite other people to promote their own film but they would have to pay me of course. Trailers are also a great way to promote my film but my trailer have to  lure viewers in, in order for them to come and watch my film. Social media now a days is a huge advantage in marketing my film, though I don't have a big platform I can still use it promote an...

Stage 2 (Distribution)

When I complete my film some how I have to distribute it right. I plan to post my film on YouTube since it is a free app and I don't really have to pay anything for me to post my film as long as it fits in to the guidelines but I would use social media platforms to try to reach out to other people with a higher following to promote my and or even pay them to promote my film to receive some type of recognition.

Stage 2 (production)

I did research on production companies in the South Florida area but most production companies don't specialize in a particular type of genre but some of my favorite ones is without filters and chroma house reel but I researched all over the country I found some that specializes in science fiction films and some of were TriStar Pictures, Universal Pictures home entertainment, American International Pictures, and Dimension films which produced some of my favorite film such as spy kids. I read an article that says you can produce a movie without any money  but it is just very time consuming especially when you are doing it yourself. So I plan to ask volunteer actors to act for my film. But another option I have is to raise the money all by myself by saving the money or raise it all by myself by fundraising. The production company I am choosing is TriStar Pictures mostly because I love their movies. I plan to produce my film with a large company because my film will receive more...

Stage 2 (history/target audience)

So far in my script it is about how another human accidentally finds out another planet  and discovers the beauty of it. the man tries to cooperate with the people of the planet because they are afraid of him but eventually they start to learn more about each others culture. In my film I am striving for a film that recognizes the importance of accepting people for their differences. so i would say that this movie is for people who like science fiction films for example people that is a fan of start wars or star trek because even though my film is not going to include aliens or any wild animals of that sort it will be about another planet which includes the characteristics  of science fiction movie. Some films that is similar to mine is Mars Attacks and the genre is science fiction comedy. It was financed because  and merchandising and advertisement.
